The indirect questions can be started in different ways, with the following phrases:

  • Do you know ...?
  • Do you have any idea ...?
  • Can you tell me
  • Could you tell me ...?

Among other. (In English there can not be two questions in one sentence)

EXAMPLE

Direct: Where is the university?
Indirect: Could you tell me where the university is?

In indirect questions with is / are, the verb comes after the subject.

Direct: Which car does it lead?
Indirect: Can you tell me which car you drive?
When we ask an indirect question, we do not use the verb 'do'.

This may be different since it will depend on the verb or auxiliary that has the question
